AACPlayer Publisher's Description

What is AAC?
AAC means "Advanced Audio Coding", and it is considered to be the actual "state of the art" in general audio coding and the successor of MPEG-1/2 Layer III / MP3 in the multimedia standard MPEG-4 that uses MP4 as the container format for all kinds of content.

Main screen
The main page shows the actually opened audio file, and the progress of the playback.
You can change the volume by pressing the joystick up or down.
Fast forward and rewind: press the joystick left or right while holding down the ABC / / SHIFT button.
Press the joystick right to see the list of audio files on the phone.

List of audio files
All files on the phone are listed here. However, the search for audio files may take some time, the process is indicated by the rotating circle at the bottom of the screen.
Select a file to start playing it.

Settings
Playlist repeating: repeat the playlist or stop when all files have been already played.
After a track ends: songs come in a random order after each other, or normally, or the playback stops.
Bluetooth headset: switch this on and restart the program if you want to use your Bluetooth headset.
Screen always on: the screen will not go to standby when playing.
ID3 charset: you can display speacial accented characters in the title/author of MP4 files. For Latin-1, use ISO 8859-1; the list of common character sets are listed in help.

Importing a skin
All JPG files on the phone are listed here. However, the search for the files may take some time, the process is indicated by the rotating circle at the bottom of the screen.
Select a file by pressing the joystick to use it as a skin. It will take some time to import it. Press Back to save the selected skin.
Only JPG files with the .jpg extension may be used.

Ripping Audio CDs with Nokia PcSuite
Start Nokia Audio Manager (start PcSuite, then select Transfer Music). Select CD Player, then click on Save tracks. Unfortunately, if you want to add the name of the author and the title to the tracks, you have to enter them manually first.

Ripping Audio CDs with Winamp
In Media Library, select your CD drive. Set Encoding Format to MP4 AAC in preferences by clicking on Rip/CD ripping preferences. Start ripping by clicking on Rip/Rip all tracks or on Rip/Rip selected track. Author/title information will be automatically added to the files if you are connected to the Internet.

Converting files and ripping audio CDs with Apple iTunes
After starting iTunes, right click on an item in the library, and select "Convert selection to AAC". If an audio CD is inserted, the contents will be displayed automatically, and the same method can be used to convert the tracks to AAC.
